Terms of Use
Last Updated: October 8, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Agreement") are a legally binding agreement between North Shore Water Pros ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") and any visitor, user, or customer ("you" or "Customer") who uses our website (northshorewaterco.com) or buys equipment from us. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to place an order.
We may amend this Agreement at any time. Continued use of our website or services after a change means you accept it.
I. What We Do, and What We Do Not Do
North Shore Water Pros is a retailer of residential water treatment equipment serving Chicago's North Shore and surrounding Illinois communities. We provide:
- Free water reports based on local water quality data, with no visit required
- Recommendations on water treatment equipment for your home
- Sale of whole-home filtration and softening systems, reverse osmosis systems, well water treatment systems, PFAS filtration, and replacement filters
- On request, referral to an independent, licensed plumbing contractor for installation
We do not perform plumbing or installation work. We are not a plumbing contractor. We do not install, connect, or service equipment, and we do not schedule, supervise, manage, or accept payment for plumbing labor.
II. Installation by an Independent Licensed Plumber
Equipment you buy from us must be installed by a plumbing contractor licensed as required by the State of Illinois and your municipality. You may use a plumber of your choice, or ask us to refer one.
- The plumber is an independent business, not our employee, agent, or subcontractor.
- You contract with the plumber directly. The plumber sets the price for installation, and you pay the plumber directly. Installation is not included in any price we quote.
- The plumber is solely responsible for the installation, including workmanship, permits, inspections, code compliance, scheduling, site conditions, and any damage arising from the installation work.
- Any warranty on installation labor is provided by the plumber, not by North Shore Water Pros.
Referral Disclosure
We have referral agreements in place with the plumbing contractors we refer, and North Shore Water Pros may collect a referral fee from a plumber for a referral. Before we refer a plumber, we verify that they are in good standing with the licensing authority and carry valid insurance covering their scope of work. A referral is not a guarantee of the plumber's work. You are free to choose any licensed plumber.
III. Free Water Report
Our free water report is based on publicly available water quality data for your area. It requires no visit, carries no charge, and carries no obligation to purchase. It is informational and is not a laboratory test of your home's water. Any equipment recommendation is based on your water quality data and household needs, not the most expensive option available.
IV. Quotes, Pricing, and Sales Tax
Prices we quote are for equipment only. Installation is not included. Illinois and local sales tax is added to every taxable sale. A quote is not binding until we have both agreed in writing on the equipment and the price. Prices may change before an order is confirmed.
V. Orders, Payment, and Delivery
Payment for equipment is due when your order is confirmed unless other arrangements are agreed in writing. We accept major credit and debit cards and other methods confirmed at the time of order. For special-order equipment, including some well water systems, a deposit may be required; deposit terms will be stated before any charge is made. Delivery or pickup arrangements and timing will be confirmed with your order. You are responsible for all amounts owed for equipment you order, including reasonable collection costs and attorneys' fees for unpaid balances.
Replacement Filter Plans
If you enroll in a replacement filter plan, you authorize us to charge the agreed amount to your card on file or by invoice on the plan schedule. Plan pricing and intervals are confirmed at enrollment.
VI. Cancellations and Returns
Cancellation and return terms, including any restocking or non-refundable costs for special-order equipment, are stated at the time of order. Equipment that has been installed or used cannot be returned. Defective equipment is covered as described in Section VII.
VII. Equipment and Manufacturer Warranty
Equipment we sell is covered by the manufacturer's warranty for that product, and we provide the warranty documentation with your order. Manufacturer warranties generally cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. They do not cover damage from improper installation, improper use, unauthorized modifications, failure to perform recommended maintenance, freeze damage, or pre-existing plumbing or well conditions. We will help you make a warranty claim on defective equipment we sold you.
VIII. Maintenance and Filter Replacement
System performance depends on timely filter replacement and maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer. Skipping recommended maintenance may void the manufacturer's warranty and reduce your system's effectiveness. You are responsible for maintaining your system on the manufacturer's schedule.
IX. Your Responsibilities
Please tell us about your water source and any known issues, especially for well water (recent changes in color, odor, pressure, or bacterial test results), so we can recommend suitable equipment. Chicago area winters require equipment to be located where it will not freeze; follow the manufacturer's guidance and your plumber's advice on placement. We are not responsible for equipment performance or damage resulting from undisclosed water or well conditions, freezing, or improper installation.
X. Website Use
Our website is provided for information about our equipment and services. You may not copy or reproduce website content without permission; use bots or data-mining tools; frame or manipulate the website; register or unsubscribe anyone without their authorization; harass or threaten our company, team, or customers; infringe our intellectual property; or interfere with the website, its servers, or its security.
XI. Text Messaging
If you agree to receive text messages from us, message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
XII. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless North Shore Water Pros, its owners, officers, employees, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of our website or equipment, your violation of this Agreement, or the work of any plumber you hire.
XIII. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, North Shore Water Pros is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to our website, the equipment we sell, or any installation, including water damage, appliance damage, freeze damage, or changes in water quality. North Shore Water Pros is not liable for the acts, omissions, or workmanship of any plumbing contractor, whether referred by us or chosen by you. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific equipment giving rise to the claim.
XIV. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, flooding, power outages, supply chain or carrier disruptions, pandemics, or government orders.
XV. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law provisions. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
XVI. Electronic Signatures and Entire Agreement
This Agreement and related documents may be signed electronically, and electronic signatures are legally equivalent to handwritten ones. This Agreement is the entire agreement between North Shore Water Pros and you regarding its subject matter and supersedes all prior communications and proposals.
